Collections

Collections was something that I did in 2020 to busy myself with all the free time that I had.

Collections is an Android app that contains various collections of wallpapers. It is a personal project that I made to learn more about Android development and UI/UX design. I also made the graphics and 3D renders for the app.

This was released in 2020.

When Google’s Material You design guidelines were released, I have also started to build the app again from scratch and with a new design that followed the established design by Google which includes its very colorful persona.

The interface was designed to adapt to the wallpaper’s colors, making it look more modern and colorful while also aligning with Google’s Material You design guidelines.

The redesigned Collections page now features a horizontal scroll layout to prominently showcase the wallpapers. The search functionality was removed due to the limited number of collections, which stood at five, with no plans to increase this number significantly. This iteration addressed several critical bugs and introduced a modernized layout.

Additionally, a convenient button has been added to access the Transformer tool, enabling users to adjust the wallpaper’s hue to suit various homescreen configurations.

The marketing materials are designed in alignment with Lor and Company’s brand identity, utilizing the Space Mono font and a monochromatic color palette to minimize cognitive strain and enhance user focus on the wallpapers and interface elements. The graphics were created in Blender and integrated into the final marketing assets through Figma.

Initial vs. final iterations of marketing materials demonstrate the progression of my ability to use Blender throughout the product’s lifetime.
